Welcome to “Delish & Decor”. I am glad you are here:) My name is Ten and I am the creator of this blog. This was born out of my excitement for the new place my fiancé and I now call home. I also had a curiosity for how WordPress works so I ended up using this blog as a platform to try. I wanted to document all the details of how we transform our first home into a nice cozy place.
The name of this blog says what it’s all about: our home and – of course with “Delish” – my love for food. 😛 I try out new recipes from different style cuisines or make simple homemade dishes. Creativity is a big part of my life and I love design in all its different forms. Thus I’m involved in interior decorating and layout; it is where the word “Decor” comes in. I am a full-time graphic designer; I have a strong passion for anything design related; and I have experience and worked on: package design, product design, web design and many more. I want to explore and experiment with interior design, home decoration, DIY, while using our home as my own canvas.
To me functionality and comfort are of equal importance as aesthetic and style. Every item that go into each room has a purpose and a reason why it’s there. Modern, clean, simple, and unique; these are words I try to think about when describing my design style.
I believe that a house can look beautiful and feel cozy for people with any budget. As a nine to five working gal, I am on a budget. As much as I love to have a nice unique piece of furniture in my living room, I would also like to save money as much as possible for a rainy day. I also would like to travel in places I have never been to before so every penny saved counts. This blog is where I will also be sharing where I can find affordable items for living room. I will also show simple DIYs like how to make a dresser look unique without spending a fortune, as an example.
This is new and exciting for me. While I am learning, I will also be sharing tips and ideas about anything that inspires me as I write this online journal. I hope this blog would be a resource, a tool for myself, and be useful for others. I hope you enjoy “Delish & Decor” as much as I do 🙂
